Adorable, Irresistible….LUSH Easter 2013 Collection!

Five secret reasons to celebrate Easter:

1. You decide that any Holiday which starts with a “Good Friday” can’t be all bad.
2. You look really, really good in yellow.
3. You love to bite the heads off chocolate bunnies.
4. You absolutely love the movie, “The Ten Commandments”.
5. You get legitimate excuse to hoard all those fun shapes and delicious scents of LUSH bath and body goodies!

Without further ado, I bring you the complete list of LUSH new Easter products.

Henata bath ballistic. It’s a piñata for the bath – but it’s a hen. So it’s a Heñata. Smash this cheerful chicken against the side of your bath to reveal some hidden surprises inside, including soap paper flower petals and a small egg made from ballistic mix! It’s a colourful fiesta for your tub and perfumed with uplifting citrus tangerine, bergamot and mandarin oils to help keep the party going! Vegan

The Brightside bubble bar. A cheerful swirl of a bubble bar to give you a fresh start and lift your spirits! I know because I tried this (see my review). Scented with a trio of uplifting and invigorating oils, there’s icilian mandarin, tangerine and bergamot oil and just a squeeze of lemon. All are energising and also incredibly toning oils that will cheer you up and clear the mind. Crumble under the running taps and watch as the water turns into a hazy red and orange sunset with frothy white clouds of bubbles. Vegan

Easter Egg Hunt soap. You don’t have to hunt very far to find all these Easter eggs, all nestled in the soap lawn for a spectacular display. Scented with fruity and mouth-watering orange, raspberry, lemon and violet leaf absolute, it’s a great springtime wash, smells so sweet and lady like it’s my personal favorite (see my review). Vegan

Carrot re-usable bubble bar. It’s Easter! And what do you get at Easter? The Easter bunny of course! And what do Easter bunnies eat? Carrots! One of the four reusable bubble bars, swish it around the bath by its green top, make your bubbles and then pop it on the side for another time. The fragrance smells nothing like carrots, as they used lots of fruity oils like buchu, lemon and bergamot to really make your mouth water. There is a little bit of nutritious carrot oil in there though, which is rich in vitamins and an extraordinary skin soother and rejuvenator. Vegan

Fluffy egg bath ballistic. For those who still want their candy fix, try this sweetie scented pink egg adorned with a candy flower. It’s like bathing in a bubbling mass of marshmallow, candy floss and jelly bean scented water … you’ll get your sugar fix without anything passing your lips! Available in spots of zig zag patterns this year. Vegan

The Immaculate Eggception. One of Lush’s innovative double-layered bath ballistics, these are hollow eggs with a surprise inside … crack the outer layer bubble bar and ballistic mix to reveal either a mini chick or bunny ballistic inside! You can then throw the outer eggshell and its inhabitant into the bathtub and enjoy a vanilla absolute, lemon and grapefruit scented soak. There are two colours to choose from, the yellow egg with green decoration contains the bunny; while the pink egg with yellow or blue decoration contains the chick. They both make for a cracking great bath! Vegan

Easter Gift Ideas

Hoppy Easter. A cute Bunny knot wrap containing a Fluffy Egg bath ballistic and a Carrot re-usable bubble bar. Knot only do you get to give a cute little bunny for Easter but the Knot Wrap is also reusable, so two gifts in one! It’s made with organic cotton, so lovely and soft. A great alternative to traditional gift-wrap, especially at a time like Easter when excess packaging is so prevalent.

Spring Tin. … a fantastic tin designed by artist and designer Roman Klonek, containing a selection of uplifting, invigorating and energising Spring products to thoroughly cleanse, stimulate and invigorate the mind and body. Contains: Avobath and Secret Garden bath ballistics; Carrot re-usable bubble bar; Bright Side bubble bar; Happy Hippy shower gel; Sugar Scrub; Bohemian soap.

Flea Market Finds: Glass & Crystal Wares For Home Decor

As promised, I will share our flea market finds from Saturday’s trip. I spent about two hours browsing and negotiating prices and I am so happy I was able to stretch my 100 AED ($27) to buy all of these.

Six pieces flea market find for 93AED.

After thoroughly cleaning them with soap and water, they now accent different parts of our abode.

The blue glazed garden pot which was originally sold for 50AED but there were no takers so the seller brought it down to 35AED ($9.50). I paid for it right away. It now commands the main door which otherwise greets visitors with a dull brown potted plant.

The tall, curved vase is perfect when serving breakfast in bed. On occasions not in breakfast tray, I place it on the coffee and tea station to add greenery. It was given to me for $1.

Then I got a make-up forever train case which was I was able to bargain from 70AED to 30AED ($8). See the whole look of it on my fashion blog.

Definitely a delightful find is another glass ware with a carabao engraving on the cover. This is my republic’s national animal and I made the dish as coffee holder though probably more suited to serve sweets.  The carabao is an enduring hard working animal and it’s nice to be reminded of all of its patience every morning while one is away from his/her own country. The glass ware was sold to me for 5AED ($2.5)

The next flea market find is a treasure and is made by Rogaska Crystal, one of the world’s leading producers of luxury crystal wares from Slovenia. I have yet to decide what to do with it.Not that I don’t trust my son for he takes care of our glass vases and has a penchant for drinking water from a wine glass but I find it too precious to be just lying around the apartment haha. For now, I am using it to hold my current favorite pair of earrings.

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. Do you also like going to  bazaars and flea markets? What has been your most favorite buy so far?

Love Month Gift Ideas: LUSH Valentine’s Day 2013 Collection

“How can a woman be expected to be happy with a man who insists on treating her as if she were a perfectly normal human being.” ~ Oscar Wilde

The Irish poet nails our exact sentiments. We women are very special. And on the Love Month particularly, we need to be reaffirmed we are goddesses in our own rights. So boyfriends, husbands, and lovers of the world, read over for some gift ideas to give your goddess woman. I have personally tried some of the collection and I vouch your lady love will not be disappointed.

United Kingdom’s LUSH handmade cosmetics is sure to win anyone’s heart. After all, they know foremost what caring is all about for their products are vegan, preservative free, and they strictly refrain from animal testing.

LUSH Valentine’s Day 2013 Collection

Massage Bars

LUSH believes massage should be celebrated … not only does it ease aches and pains by releasing endorphins in the body, rejuvenate the body and calm the mind; but it can also be quite a sensual experience. Give your partner one of Lush’s new massage bars this Valentine’s Day and the benefits will surpass just the one day!

Tender is The Night

A heart shaped vegan massage bar, that’s crushable in your hand! Synonymous with life perhaps, where you are able to break somebody’s heart easily! Either be gentle with your heart and break off a small piece or crush the whole thing in your hand and get right to the soft centre, for a really generous, decadent massage. This one uses fair trade shea and murumuru butters, instead of cocoa butter, for a light shell that smooshes in your hand. Inside is the soft core of squishy almond oil, agave syrup, cupuacu and glycerine. Scented with vanilla absolute, jasmine and ylang ylang, it makes for a very seductive rub down!

From Dusk ‘Til Dawn

If your man enjoyed lemony Northern Lights (see my review), he will love this product. Quite simply, when it’s Valentine’s Day, you don’t want your partner falling asleep on you after you’ve just given them an amazing massage. This one is designed to give you an energising, stimulating boost to keep you…ahem, up…from dusk ‘til dawn! Shaped like a cone, you can use the pointy end to rub out any knotted muscles, aches and pains. Made with moisturising and softening cocoa and shea butters, along with nutritious moringa oil. Scented with an uplifting blend of sweet wild orange oil and lemon oil, with ginseng, ginkgo powder and guarana seed for added kick! All vegan too.

LUSH First Lip Gloss: The Kiss

This I highly recommend (see my review)…perfect your pout for the most romantic time of the year with this new pink and sugary sweet unpreserved lip gloss. This softening, moisturising and nourishing gloss feels lighter than the other balms, as it has a new aerated formula, as well as being totally preservative free. It leaves a delicate pink hue on the lips and a delicious after taste, so your kisses will be candy sweet!

Willow Pattern Soap

I personally tried and this has  a real creamy lather. It is inspired inspired by a Korean artist whom LUSH worked with in soap sculpture. The gorgeous new soap is reminiscent of a Willow Pattern china plate, depicting a romantic tale of star crossed lovers in an intricate carving in blue on the top. The soap base has cornflour and talc added to it for extra nourishing properties to soften dry, sore skin. There’s also skin nourishing rose absolute, rose oil and rosewood oil, so skin will be left thoroughly softened and delicately scented with roses.

I am still recovering from their Snow Fairy holiday daze but when I saw their Valentine’s Day products, I went all giddy with excitement! It also comes at a perfect time because Heart’s Day falls at the start of the weekend. That means we will host the love month supper with a few friends. Decor, menu, and table setting is all checked, except for the guest token. LUSH just solved my dilemma.

Now share us, which product you are most likely to buy your significant other? Have a happy, meaningful Valentine’s Day Celebration!
